Polish Lawyer Gets Arrested Over Fake Attack Threats in Warsaw Case
According to reports, authorities arrested the 48-year-old man in Warsaw after an investigation linked him to a series of forged communications sent to government institutions. The messages allegedly claimed that preparations were underway to target President Karol Nawrocki and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
Reports indicate that the suspect is accused of posing as former high-ranking public officials in an effort to lend credibility to the warnings. Investigators allege that he supplemented the messages with documents and items obtained unlawfully and attempted to direct suspicion toward individuals who had no connection to the case.
In one instance, prosecutors said a letter was accompanied by ammunition, apparently to reinforce the authenticity of the alleged threat.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect after entering an apartment in Warsaw, where they reportedly seized electronic devices, including laptops, mobile phones, and USB drives, along with service identification badges, weapons, and ammunition.
Investigators also discovered identification documents belonging to other individuals, including identity cards, driver's licenses, and residence permits.
According to reports, a subsequent search of the suspect's vehicle led to the recovery of additional ammunition and 10 artillery shells, further expanding the scope of the investigation.
